SMS
With the Mero Mobile short text message service you can send and receive text messages with up to 160 characters. The address of the SMS sent from your mobile phone may be a subscriber within Mero Mobile or another mobile operator.

Receiving short text messages on your mobile phone comes with the subscription for all Mero Mobile subscribers. 25 messages with up to 160 characters can be stored on your Mero Mobile SIM card at any one time. If there is no more free space on your SIM card, the centre cannot get new messages to you, or (depending on the type of handset) overwrites an old one.
Settings
When you buy your handset, it is "SMS ready". It may happen, however, that your settings get accidentally deleted from your handset. If this happens, you can reset the parameters for sending and receiving text messages by following the steps below.
- Message centre number: +9779800009000
- Definition of message type: set the message type to "text" or "standard" or "0" on your handset.
Delivery Notification
To enable delivery notification the subscriber should send the "REPORT ON" message to "0" number and receives the delivery notification mode enabling confirmation from the SMSC.
To disable delivery notification the subscriber should send the "REPORT OFF" message to "0" number and receives the notification mode disabling confirmation from the SMSC.
Optional settings
Message validity: with this you can set how long the centre should try to deliver your message to the addressee if it doesn’t manage to immediately. It’s enough to make these settings once as handsets save changes made until you choose new ones. How to make the settings varies from phone to phone, so please consult your handset’s manual.
Receiving message is free
The allowance on the SMS service does not apply the cost on receiving the message within the network coverage or another mobile operator. It’s totally free of cost for incoming messages.
For further assistance, please dial 9005 from MERO MOBILE or 9809005000 from any other operators.
