MMS

Multimedia messaging is one of the most recent developments in mobile messaging and an extension to the Short Message Service (SMS) protocol. It defines a way to send and receive, almost instantaneously, wireless messages that include images, audio, and video clips in addition to text. Unlike the SMS, which is a maximum of 160 text characters and cannot exceed 160 bytes, the MMS allows the transmission of up to 100 kilobytes of data.

You can send MMS to any GPRS enabled mobile in Nepal. They can view it as MMS if they have MMS-enabled phones, if not the user will receive a SMS message along with the line of: "You have a picture message” with the address of website which they can view the message".

How to use the Service?

To use the service you need to have a compatible mobile phone, to send and receive pictures, sounds, animated graphics and short video message. How do I activate the Service?

To activate MMS service, please call Customer Care center 9005 or can personally visit our customer care. You can also activate by sending SMS, just type text "A" and send to 900226 or dial *900#, our IVR will guide you through, to activate the service. Once you have finished doing so you will receive a message from our service center that "the service MMS will be added in 30 minutes and will be charge in accordance with your tariff".
